Diablo Valley College
Founded in 1949 as East Contra Costa Junior College, Diablo Valley College serves more than 22,000 students with two campuses in Contra Costa County and ranks among California's top five transfer colleges.

Diablo Valley College was established in 1949 to serve the East Bay's growing communities. Originally named East Contra Costa Junior College, it took its current name to reflect its geographic position and mission. Today the college operates two main campuses—one in Pleasant Hill and another in San Ramon—serving a combined enrollment exceeding 22,000 students with more than 300 full-time and 370 part-time faculty members.
The college has become a major pathway to four-year education for Bay Area residents. Year after year, it ranks among the state's top five transfer colleges, sending students to UC Berkeley, California State University East Bay, and St. Mary's College. Many of its graduates go on to complete bachelor's degrees and enter professional fields, including medicine, engineering, business and education.
Students at Diablo Valley College are the same ages when planning for life's major transitions begins. Parents supporting a student through community college or university years often buy term coverage to protect the family's ability to finish those educations. A 20- or 30-year policy sized to cover tuition and living expenses for the years ahead is how many households approach that risk.
